The American Powerlifting Federation (APF) was the first lifting organization founded by lifters FOR lifters. The APF provides drug-tested competition through the Amateur American Powerlifting Federation (AAPF), and world competition through the World Powerlifting Congress (WPC) and the AWPC.

The American Powerlifting Association, run by Scott Taylor, offers both tested and non-tested divisions at their meets.

The American Drug-Free Powerlifting Federation is the U.S. affiliate of the WDFPF, the World Drug-Free Powerlifting Federation. The ADFPF offers very strictly tested meets, using in- and out-of-meet testing, as well as targeted "nil notice" testing.

The World Association of Bench Pressers and Deadlifters (WABDL) was founded and run by Gus Rethwisch, one of the greatest deadlifters of all time. The WABDL is known for its camaraderie, very well-run meets, and of course the annual WABDL World Championships, which year after year are the largest meets in the sport.

Hudson Power Team is the Powerlifting Web site of World Class lifter John Hudson. John is a friend of the Beckwith's Webmaster Ron L'Huillier. John and Ron started in the sport together back in the 1980's. As of this writing Johns best competitive lifts are a 677.7 Bench Press and a 727.5 Deadlift. John has a wealth of knowledge and has interesting articles, advice, and multimedia scattered throughout his Web site. John is a true ambassador of the sport of powerlifing and is responsible for hundreds of new lifters under the auspices of Illini Powerlifting.

The Maroscher Powerlifting Team (MPT) is a competitive powerlifting team, which over the years, has been the training team for over twenty-six competitive powerlifters. These powerlifters have ranged in diversity from the 123 pound weight class up to the 308 pound weight class, the Teen category to Master IV, the novice lifter to multi-time world champions.
